Henry Cejudo has pumped a new life in the lighter divisions of the UFC. He has captured both the Flyweight and Bantamweight belts by demolishing top contenders. Consequently, he now wants to fight only legends for his upcoming bouts.

Before the arrival of Coronavirus on the scene, Cejudo was booked to fight the former Featherweight champ, Jose Aldo. However, Aldo’s visa was, reportedly, expired. And because of the ban on flying, the US embassy in Brazil wasn’t renewing them either.
Subsequently, there were claims that Dominick Cruz would step in as a replacement. The UFC never made the fight official. However, it was an interesting matchup for “Triple C”. At the same time, it was unpredictable as well.

“I thought about it with Dominick and Dominick is unpredictable,” Henry Cejudo said during an Instagram Live chat with ESPN on Monday. “He’s too brittle. I’m afraid to sign a contract with him cause I don’t know if he’s going to show up.”

If not Cruz, then Cejudo has his eyes set upon Frankie Edgar. Coming off back-to-back losses, Edgar has decided to explore uncharted territories by moving down to Bantamweight. “The Answer” can’t get a better welcome than the champ himself.

“I’m on a legend rampage. Those are the two guys that kind of come to mind,” Cejudo said when exploring the possibility of his next opponent.

The Coronavirus has forced UFC to go off its planned schedule of fights. Subsequently, it is not clear if Cejudo’s title defence against Jose Aldo will get rebooked or not.

Whatever happens, Cejudo has seemingly moved forward from the matchup. He seemed more interested in discussing two of his next opponents.
“Then obviously with Frankie Edgar — Frankie Edgar, he was one of the first people I called out once I beat Marlon,” Cejudo said when he talked about the former Lightweight champ as an opponent. “That’s a fight that always gives me that appetite for him, especially him at 145 pounds, but since he’s coming down to 35, he’s a former champion at 155 pounds. That’s another fight that intrigues me and gets me up in the morning.”

Despite his recent losses, Edgar has been fairly active in recent times. On the other hand, Cruz lies on the opposite end of the spectrum. Injuries have forced the former Bantamweight champ to stay away from the game.

Cruz last stepped inside the Octagon in 2016 when he lost the title to Cody Garbrandt. His inactivity is something that worries Cejudo.
“Dominick Cruz hasn’t fought since 2016. Frankie Edgar, the only guys that he’s lost to have been the top-ranked guys,” Cejudo said. “I would love to beat up Dominick but I just don’t know if he would show up.
“He’s so unpredictable and with Frankie Edgar, it’s something I’m going to have to talk to my agent about, my manager cause I don’t like both of them and I would like to make both of them bend the knee.”
