The UFC is apparently back on track in regards to its schedule. The promotion is rolling out events as the weeks pass by, and the time table seems to be in sync. Moreover, events are even going by smoothly, as the promotion has not found any development to deter their efforts yet. Thus, planning ahead of schedule, the UFC has reportedly fixed a bout between Holly Holm and Irene Aldana for sometime in August.

These reports come in from an anonymous source, as the UFC has yet to make an official announcement regarding the same. ESPN was the first to report about the development.

Holly Holm vs Irene Aldana: Headliner for UFC on August 1

The headliner for UFC’s event on August 1, the fight will attract crowds from all over the combat sports world. This is because present inside the ring will be Holly Holm, the only fighter in combat sports history to hold world titles in multiple divisions in boxing, as well as the UFC title in the Bantamweight division.

Up against the decorated athlete will be 32-year-old, Irene “Robles” Aldana. Irene is coming fresh off a massive KO victory over Ketlen Vieira and is a promising fighter currently at #5 in the division’s rankings.

Thus, a victory over the 38-year old Holm will certainly be a boost for Irene. However, it will be a daunting task for Irene to work inside the Octagon with one of the most naturally equipped strikers in the division. After all, “The Preacher’s Daughter” was the first person to hand Ronda Rousey a loss. Her resume screams danger.

Yet, Irene should be able to make the bout go her way using her arguably superior ground-game. Whether she will be able to employ the same to her advantage is something the will make the fight an exhilarating one.

What are the other bouts confirmed for August 1?

A couple of more bouts have unofficially made the confirmation list for the UFC event on August 1. These are:

Derek Brunson vs. Edmen Shahbazyan

Markus Perez vs. Eric Spicely

Evidently, UFC is rolling out fixtures at max capacity again! And with the fables of the “fight island” coming true in an island off Abu Dhabi, fights are just going to get more intense!
