Conor McGregor has responded to Oscar De La Hoya’s call out.

If there’s one thing we know about “The Notorious“, he does not back down from a fight. And here he is, proving it again.

Earlier this week, Oscar had stated that Conor would not do well inside a boxing ring. The last time someone said this to him, he ventured into the boxing ring with arguably the greatest of all time, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Even though Mayweather stopped McGregor in his tracks in the 10th round via TKO, everyone expects him to return to prove a point. That he can do whatever he wants to.

And Oscar De La Hoya might just have initiated the process. He said, “One thing about me, I went for the kill, always. Look, Conor McGregor, I love him in the Octagon, I respect him. I watch him all the time, but the boxing ring is a whole different story.”

And apparently, this is not the first time that ‘The Golden Boy‘ has called the Irishman out.

“I can take out Conor McGregor in two rounds”- Oscar De La Hoya in yet another call-out for Conor McGregor

As per Jed I. Goodman’s Tweet regarding the recent statement that Oscar made, he said that he can beat Conor in two rounds. This is something that he also said in 2017. In a Daily Mail article, Oscar was quoted saying, “I know I can take out Conor McGregor in two rounds. I’ll come back for that fight. Two rounds. Just one more fight. I’m calling him out. You heard it on Golden Boy Radio. Two rounds, that’s all I need.”

Oscar last entered the ring in 2008. And nine years after retiring, he predicted that he’d come back for this fight. And now, with Conor’s approval for the matchup, we might just see the bout materialize.

However, McGregor currently has his plate full, what with dozens of rumors about his next MMA stint doing the rounds. In fact, Dana White also stated recently that McGregor might fight in June on the infamous fight island.

With the revenge against Khabib that he thirsts for and a trilogy fight with Nate Diaz amongst the many things on his to-do list, all amidst the coronavirus, it seems highly unlikely that he will pause MMA to train for boxing and fight Oscar.

But rest assured, with the confirmation out, we may as well look forward to the fight.

Do you think McGregor will emerge the victor in his second boxing stint if the fight with Oscar De La Hoya does materialize?
