Daniel Cormier does not want his trilogy with Stipe Miocic dragging on any longer. The first time he went up against “The Silencer”, DC made history by becoming the Heavyweight Champion.

However, Stipe reclaimed heavyweight gold when he met DC last year. In the last fight of his career, Cormier hopes to settle the score with Stipe once and for all. DC issued a message to Stipe in a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, calling him out once more. He said,

“Come on, champ! Sign the contract! Let’s go! What are you doing? It’s nonsense! I get that you’re a firefighter. We admire that. We admire all those things about you. You wanna help people in this crisis time. But you’re also champion of the world. Let’s get this thing done!”

No matter how badly DC wants to get his revenge and the fight over with, it does not look like Stipe cares about that. Recently, the firefighter-paramedic said in an interview that he is not at all thinking about fighting right now. With gyms closed and his job as a paramedic needing more importance, he is sidetracking the fight business.

This definitely throws a wrench in DC‘s plans of getting things over with ASAP. The 42-year-old even has a tentative date in mind for Stipe, which he shared with Helwani. He said, “Let’s fight in August.”

“I’m better than him!” Daniel Cormier explains why Stipe Miocic will lose to him.

Apparently, DC recently watched his second fight for the first time. He said that he would not let Stipe win again. Speaking to Ariel, he said, “He [Stipe] said last fight didn’t start so fast, didn’t start so well but this time it’s gonna be better. It didn’t start so well because I’m better than him! It’s gonna start like that this time. But this time, I’m not gonna get tired and you’re not gonna just punch me in the stomach!”

DC lost the last fight via TKO, as Stipe delivered devastating shots to the body. And DC regrets the fact that he ever lost to Stipe, someone who generally holds a lot of respect as a fighter in the MMA universe.

“I think I beat him up so bad in the first round [of the second fight] that I lost respect for him. And started carrying my hands really low. And not fighting the way I’m known to fight. I’m gonna beat him up like that again. I respect him, I think he’s a great guy, I think he’s a great role model. But I’m better than him and I just wanna go prove it. I should have never lost to him. That is going to be one of my greatest regrets.”
