“I Can Do It!”- Daniel Cormier Volunteers to Mediate Between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Ariel Helwani
Ariel Helwani is a name synchronous to the world of combat sports. He has been in this business almost since its conception. However, the Canadian journalist’s odyssey has seen a lot of ups and downs.
One of the most well-known reporters in the fighting scene, Helwani currently works for ESPN. He hosts the popular podcast, “The Ariel Helwani Show” on a weekly basis.
However, his name having a value in the combat circuit has not saved him from the wrath of multiple fighters. And one of the biggest fighters that Helwani has managed to rub the wrong way is Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The latest episode of his podcast featured Daniel Cormier and the pair talk about his strained relationship with the Dagestani fighter, who happens to be DC’s teammate at American Kickboxing Academy(AKA).
“Even your boy Khabib turned on me too. I was very good to Khabib. There was a time when Khabib was out of action for two years, he would come on my show all the time. And guess what people would get mad at me, ‘Stop having this guy on’. But then what happens? Everyone gets famous and they stab me right in the back.”- Ariel Helwani
Cormier jokes about how Helwani feels that Khabib hates him and he wants Khabib back for the Russian is at the top of the food chain, as of now. Following which, DC volunteers to arbitrate the supposed bad blood between Helwani and The Eagle.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is Not the Only One Who Resents Ariel Helwani

Conor McGregor, for instance, is one such fighter. The two presently have a steady relationship. However, once in an interview Helwani asked McGregor about wanting to dethrone Jose Aldo. To which, visibly agitated, McGregor responds by saying that he is the king.
Not bound to MMA, Helwani has rubbed the likes of Floyd Mayweather the wrong way as well. While in conversation with ‘Money’, Helwani asks about his upcoming fight with McGregor. However, Mayweather calls him out for being biased. In addition, he says that Helwani does not want Mayweather to beat McGregor because he is an “MMA guy”.

However, it is Quinton “Rampage” Jackson who has always had a problem with the Canadian journalist. There are multiple videos showing verbal altercations and Rampage reacting poorly to Helwani’s questions.
