Georges St-Pierre last competed in the Octagon over 2 years ago. The fight against Michael Bisping was his debut in middleweight. It also ended his 4-year hiatus. GSP won the fight but vacated the title a month later due to a medical condition. A year later he officially announced his retirement.

Having competed for so many years ‘GSP’ would still maintain his fitness and conditioning. It will be a habit ingrained in him. He has been helping fans out with numerous home workout videos on Instagram. The retired fighter still looks in good shape in these videos.

In a chat with ESPN MMA’s Ariel Helwani, GSP opened up on the possibility of a return.

“I would need something that interests me”– Georges St-Pierre

The fighter with the second-most wins in title fights in the UFC left the door open to a return.

“It will not take me much to be in fight shape, however, a fighter is always the last person to know when it’s time to stop, in my mind I can still be champion… I would need something that interests me. Something from left field,” says St-Pierre.

His quote indicated that he is the best judge of when it is time to walk away. However, hopes of a return were seemingly extinguished in this chat itself.

GSP revealed he watches current fights and he thinks he can beat the current guys easily. Later, he said he doesn’t want to go back to that stressful lifestyle and added that he fought only as he loved what he got from it.
