In a chat with Ariel Helwani, Daniel Cormier questioned the possibility of getting a heart attack.
Daniel Cormier is a former two-division champion. At a point in time, DC held belts in the light heavyweight and the heavyweight division. Since losing his heavyweight belt to Stipe Miocic last year, DC has stayed out of the competition.
Cormier makes occasional appearances on Ariel Helwani’s MMA show during the quarantine. The segment is titled ‘DC and Helwani’ where both men talk about MMA along with other things.

As most of us are aware, Cormier has an immense love for food, especially chicken and cake. With not much to do these days, the former double champ has gained a considerable amount of weight.
Daniel Cormier shares positive news
On a recent episode of the show, DC said:
“I’ve lost a few pounds. ‘I was asking myself, can I do better? You should do better DC.’ And it’s still all bad. But I have lost a few pounds. I got on the treadmill for 4 days last week, starting to run, trying to get my act together.”
Getting back into your workout routine can be difficult and Cormier is no stranger to it. Before his first run, Cormier faced great difficulty. The heavyweight felt as if he would get a heart attack.
“I did question whether or not I could have a heart attack on my first run.”

Furthermore, he also said that he weighed in at 253 pounds before hopping on the treadmill. But Cormier did share some positive news. He told Helwani that he has lost four pounds in a week. As of now, he feels good and healthy.
“We are down four. If I told you the truth about my weight last week, it’d be 253.” DC said. “I feel good, I feel happy, I feel healthy and I’m looking to get this fight going.”

DC has been pushing for a trilogy fight with Stipe Miocic for a while now. He lost the title to Stipe at UFC 241. It is unclear whether he will receive his title shot, as he plans to retire soon. Also, Stipe is desperately needed at the frontlines because of his job as a firefighter-paramedic.
Nevertheless, Cormier will be commentating at UFC 249 but he will not be returning home soon.
