Conor McGregor hung his gloves up early this year and has been away from the octagon ever since his last appearance against Donald Cerrone at UFC 246. However, he has been teasing fans with talks of a prodigious return against the biggest of names.
What’s more? The octagon is not the only destination he has in mind. With the UFC offering fans some relief with back-to-back action every week, ‘The Notorious’ McGregor has done quite a bit to keep preserve a spot for himself on the headlines.
He has been accepting fights online almost every day, and it seems like it is Manny Pacquiao’s turn. Whether anyone is interested in the matchup or not, UFC chief Dana White doesn’t care too much about it.
The post-fight press conference at UFC on ESPN 31 saw White offer his two cents on the ‘McGregor vs Pacquiao’ rumors and stunned a whole host of people.
Dana White is not interested in the Conor McGregor vs Manny Pacquiao matchup
A few days ago, McGregor took to Twitter and wrote, “I accept”, without any context. Interestingly, the Irishman wrote the term in Filipino. This set the wheels of the rumor mill in motion.
Since McGregor and Pacquiao are managed by the same organization, a boxing matchup between them has always been on the cards. Although nothing has ever been finalized, fans seemingly want to see it happen sooner rather than later.

However, the longtime UFC President does not share the same enthusiasm. A notion that the combat sports circuit was not prepared for. To everyone’s surprise, White stated, “ I don’t care about any of that s***.”.
What happened between Dana White and McGregor
White has always had a soft spot for the Irish powerhouse. And why not, the former World Champion is the biggest superstar the promotion has to offer. In fact, he is a global phenomenon.
However, McGregor has been inconsistent in UFC ever since his devastating loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018.
White has also ruled McGregor’s potential return to the octagon out on multiple occasions. Adding salt to his wounds, White has also expressed disinterest in seeing McGregor donning the eight-ounce gloves.
Conor McGregor was recently seen considering his prospects in the UFC as well. A few months ago he almost bagged a super-fight catchweight bout against Anderson Silva via Twitter.
However, the Irishman seemed to have feigned interest in the matchup as the fight failed to materialize due to a lack of follow-ups. That said, Anthony Pettis has already agreed to replace him against Silva.
Yet, it is still unsure whether there is any truth to rumors and speculations regarding Conor’s return.
