Daniel Cormier is gearing up for the ultimate fight of his career against Stipe Miocic. Riding towards the end of one of the most illustrious UFC careers ever, the former Light heavyweight and Heavyweight Champion is looking to bring down the current Heavyweight Champion in their trilogy fight.

The shift in weight divisions was not that big of a problem for DC. In fact, DC originally competed in the Heavyweight division from 2009 to 2013. He then moved down to the Light Heavyweight Division, where he gained the Light Heavyweight title and defended it.

Thereafter, he again moved up to Heavyweight, knocked “The Silencer” out to win the title, and defended it. Thus, DC’s journey has been nothing short of amazing. Moreover, his career remains free of any ethical blots like USADA violations. Yet, people find a way to make fun of the living legend.

Due to his weight, many people take to making fun of the Champion. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, DC silenced all those who do so. He said,

“I’m fat and I’m happy! And guess what else? I can be whatever I want, honestly. Because it’s up to me. And if I’m comfortable with [myself], I don’t care if you judge me! This is a very strong message for people that are happy in their own skin. Even though, behind closed doors, you question whether or not you’re getting too big. But if you’re happy, you’re happy! And that’s what I wanna tell these people who say I’m fat. Okay, I am! So, what? I have a wife that loves me, I have children. I have a house. Looking down on me because of my body? I hope that you have a six-pack!”

DC feels that his loss to Miocic came due to the fact that he let his guard down. He said that he beat up Miocic too bad in the first round of their rematch to take him seriously thereafter.

However, he said that he will not commit the same mistake. DC said, “I’m gonna beat him up like that again. I respect him, I think he’s a great guy, I think he’s a great role model. But I’m better than him and I just wanna go prove it. I should have never lost to him. That is going to be one of my greatest regrets.”

With Miocic finally edging closer to making his Octagon comeback, we might see DC put his claims to test very soon.

Do you think DC will bag a victory in the final fight of his career?
