Daniel Cormier believes Dana White will successfully pull off the much-awaited UFC 249. Tony Ferguson and undisputed Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will take on each other. The fight will be taking place on 19th April.

Daniel Cormier trains under the banner of American Kickboxing Academy alongside his teammate, Khabib. The Dagestani fighter is looking to take on Ferguson for the 5th time. The fight, due to injuries and other medical reasons, has been canceled 4 times previously.

In the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, the UFC has seen the delay of 3 fight cards. However, DC is certain that the fight will take place this time around.

Dana White has not yet come out to reveal the location of the fight. However, there is a high probability that the fight will take place behind closed doors.

“I don’t doubt him, don’t doubt Dana. I believe UFC 249 will happen and I rarely disagree with what Dana says — don’t know how he’s going to continue the full fight schedule after that. A one-off, I think is easier to pull off because it’s so massive.”- Daniel Cormier

Uncertainty Over Events Following UFC 249

Cormier feels that UFC 249 may come out as the only survivor, for the events that are to be held in Portland, Oklahoma City, and San Diego may be done away with or put on hold.

“I don’t know how difficult it’s going to be to do UFC Oklahoma City and UFC San Diego and UFC Portland. I don’t know how that looks opposed to UFC 249, one of the biggest cards of the year.”- Daniel Cormier

DC is not the only one who has shown concern over the events following UFC 249.

“You know, if there were bets to be placed on it, I’d probably bet it wasn’t going to happen. If I had to be honest with you, it’s probably not going to happen and if it does, they might not do my fight, like the prelim fight. They might just do the main event or something.”- Bryce Mitchell
