“In order to be the best you need to beat everybody,” says Tony Ferguson
“I’m not planning on losing any time soon. My work ethic speaks for itself. And I’m an ultimate fighter winner man. In order to be the best you need to beat everybody, it’s a round-robin tournament and Justin Gaethje’s next,” said Ferguson during the official pre-fight conference.
Ferguson’s history undoubtedly speaks for itself. ‘El Cucuy’ holds the record for the most consecutive wins in the lightweight division at 12. Moreover, he has put out top contenders such as ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, Anthony Pettis, and Kevin Lee over the past few years.

However, irrespective of Ferguson’s credentials, Gaethje will prove to be a tough fight. Gaethje is on 3 fight win streak, with his last fight ending in a vicious knock out of ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone.
The unpredictability of the fight will generate plenty of hype. Both fighters thrive in scrappy situations. The constant pressure Ferguson applies makes it hell for most of his opponents. Similarly, Gaethje is known for his devastating knock out power and amazing chin. The skillset they possess will certainly guarantee them fight bonuses either way.
“I said I wanted to fight Tony because I know we’re both special people when it comes to being able to be comfortable when adrenaline is coursing through your veins. The feeling of being in a life or death situation and being able to be comfortable, there’s nothing like it. I know that he is the same way. One of us is probably going to get two bonuses, we’re both getting one bonus and I fight for money. At the time when I said that, I was shooting to be the most exciting fighter in the world. Tony is the best opponent to bring that out of me,” said Gaethje.
