The UFC Universe might finally witness the return of Former Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley.
In a recent interview of “UFC Unfiltered”, Dana White shared that Woodley is aching to get back into the Octagon.
“Before I came into this interview, I got a text from Woodley that said, ‘I’m looking for Sean. I want this fight on the 23rd.’ That’s what Woodley just told me before this interview. So we’ll see what happens.”

However, Dana has other plans for whom T-Wood will face next. “Burns is the opponent we’re looking at.”
A fight between Burns and Woodley has been in the offing for quite some time. Ever since the coronavirus scrapped his bout with Leon Edwards, Woodley has been looking for an opponent.
And looking at this as an opportunity, Gilbert Burns called Woodley out, to which Woodley’s response was positive.
While Woodley would have preferred a fight with “Chaos” Colby Covington to finally do away with all the trash talk, he told Ariel Helwani that he would no longer wait.
Sad how terrified @colbyCovmma is of me and thinks he deserves a rematch after he got stopped🙄 we in the same boat. I understand why my mentees @USMAN84kg and @colbycovmma don’t want fight me with a clear head. I wouldn’t want to fight me Rn either. https://t.co/8c88uiXNAb

Tyron Woodley and Gilbert Burns are up for a fight on 23rd May
As mentioned, Tyron and Gilbert look forward to battling inside the Octagon. And apparently, this is not the first time someone has mentioned a possibility for the fight to materialize on 23rd May.

Thus, with both fighters in agreement and the UFC Boss himself confirming that he is considering the bout, we might have ourselves a Welterweight bash, come 23rd May. However, there is still a lot of uncertainty hovering around the venue of the event.
If the fight does materialize, who do you think will win the Welterweight bout? “The Chosen One” or Gilbert “Durinho” Burns?
