“I’ve been in camp for the April 18 card. I was scheduled to go against Belal Muhammed. I was excited and training very hard for this fight. We did our best to try to avoid the spread of COVID-19 and the virus. We limited a lot of my training only to certain people at the gym. Despite my best efforts to try to avoid catching the virus, although I said it was due to an injury, it was actually because I had tested positive for the COVID-19.”

He reveals that he felt something was up as his body, “just wasn’t there at all.”

In addition to ‘American Cyborg,’ his girlfriend Elena Bulgor and one of his coaches also tested positive. The trio has recovered and the Welterweight said he has returned to training.

He took the opportunity to advise listeners on how to deal with these harrowing times.

“I don’t want people to feel bad for me and or to say this whole situation is messed up. It is, but at the same time, I was fortunate enough to beat it. Now let’s get through this, let’s stay connected. Stay positive. We’ll get past it, there’s better times on the way.”

Fans hope he better times come soon with UFC able to hold their May 9th event without a snag.

The Welterweight’s fight is postponed but the new date isn’t mentioned as of yet. Dana White is a highly optimistic person, but one doubts he will have ‘American Cyborg’ back on a card so quickly.

The fighter said that the respiratory illness “wreaked havoc” on his lungs. Hence he would need to get himself conditioned to go the distance in a bout.

When can we see Lyman Good return to the Octagon where he claims to “have unfinished business?”
