“I just got one demand, one demand only to save the sport and save Fight Island. That’s just to make sure Marc Not-so Goodard is anywhere near the octagon that fu**ing p***k. Stay in the f***ing UK, you ain’t gonna f*** me out of a world title next time.”

‘Chaos’ also touched upon his preparation if the fight against Kamaru Usman were to materialize on extremely short notice. It appears as though the shortened timeline does little in the way of affecting Covington.

“I’ve been preparing for this moment my whole entire life. The past seven months I’ve been calling what’s going to happen and I’m going to stay ready in case something like this does happen. I’m in the greatest shape of my life, I’ve had the greatest training camp. I feel healthy for the first time in a long time. I’m ready to go and I’m a professional.”

The UFC is reportedly in talks with Jorge Masvidal to salvage the Welterweight title bout. In light of these events, MMA fans will be at the edge of their seats in anticipation as the story develops further. Both Covington and Masvidal are highly viable options to slide in as a replacement for Gilbert Burns.
