

Colby Covington expressed his disdain with the UFC after various decisions went against his way. Covington was extremely critical of the various refereeing decisions made by Marc Goddard after his loss to Kamaru Usman.

Colby Covington revealed in an interview
“I was winning until I slipped on a banana peel and I got clipped a little bit. We go into a fight to kill or be killed. I signed up to kill or get killed and I got robbed of that. I signed up for that, this is professional fighting. We’re not talking about NBA basketball here”

Despite his bold claims, The fighter was called out for being highly delusional. Marc Goddard, the referee for the fight was put under blast by Covington, despite making the right decision. Usman dominated from round 1, knocking “The chaos” down twice during the fight.
Covington broke his jaw during the fight, but it took Usman until round 5 to seal the victory. Despite the beatdown, Covington ensured his sentiments against referee Marc Goddard were heard.

Irrespective of Covington’s complaints, the truth is he lost fair and square. After further analysis, the eye-poke and below the belt shots turned out to be another excuse for his loss.

Despite his qualms and complaints, the fighter was praised for his resilience on that night. He suffered a broken jaw in the 3rd round and still managed to make it till the end. A feat that is highly commendable for any fighter.
With several top fighters in the welterweight division, Covington should hopefully return to action soon
