UFC 249 is going ahead on May 9th and is filled with blockbuster fights. The co-main event will see UFC Bantamweight Champion Henry Cejudo get his wish. Earlier, he said, “I’m on a legend rampage. Those (Dominick Cruz and Frankie Edgar) are two guys that kind of come to mind.”

Henry Cejudo taunts Dominick Cruz yet again

‘The Messenger’ took to Instagram and wrote, “I will prove your ring rust theory wrong! Prepare to bend the knee precious.”

Even before the fight was made official, ‘Triple C’ had a lot to say.

In an Instagram Live with ESPN MMA, he said, I thought about it with Dominick and Dominick is unpredictable. He’s too brittle. I’m afraid to sign a contract with him cause I don’t know if he’s going to show up.

‘The Dominator’ has been absent from the Octagon since December 2016. On that occasion, he lost the UFC Bantamweight Championship to Cody Garbrandt. ‘The Dominator’ threw his name into the hat and volunteered to fill in for Jose Aldo at what originally was UFC 250. He told Ariel Helwani, “that’s (the championship fight) what I’ve been asking for for a long time.

He even fired a shot at the 3rd ranked pound for pound fighter. “I believe Henry has a habit of saying things just get hype to have people talking about him.”

The verbal volleys have been exchanged and the duo will trade barbs right until fight night. But who will prevail in Florida?

It would be a fairytale return for ‘The Dominator’ who has had 2 comebacks derailed due to injuries in 2017 and 2019. Can he finally have his incredible comeback by becoming the first man to beat ‘The Messenger’ at Bantamweight? Or will ‘Triple C’ begin his “legend rampage” with a massive win?
