Colby Covington failed in his quest to claim the UFC Welterweight Championship at UFC 245. In a chat with MMA Junkie Radio, he said, “I’m devastated, I’m heartbroken that I got cheated (against Kamaru Usman).” However, he is set to return to the Octagon soon, and opened up about the fights that interest him.

Colby Covington wants a Kamaru Usman rematch

“I want my rematch with ‘Marty Fakenewsman,’ there’s no other fight to make. We’ve got unfinished business. The way that last fight went down, everybody knows I was winning that fight, that was my fight until Marc Goddard made a stupid decision to stop the fight when the fight wasn’t even close to being over. I still had 5,10 rounds in me. I could go all day, I don’t get tired.”

‘Chaos’ repeatedly claims that there wasn’t a level playing field. He says that was only round one, and wants a rematch.

“I’m going to stand firm. I deserve my rematch. Everybody knows who won that night and give me a level playing field and a competent ref, and that’s a completely different outcome next time. We only started round one. There’s a whole sequel and trilogy to this fight.”

Unfortunately for him, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ is set to defend the title against Jorge Masvidal. As a result, a rematch may have to wait. However, he has a suitable alternative in mind.

‘Chaos’ open to ending Tyron Woodley’s career

“If I don’t get that fight then the only other fight that would make sense for me is to end Tyron Woodley’s career. You see him out there broke as f**k begging to fight someone. Now he’s over on Cameo, but you can’t believe anything Woodley says. He’s like ‘Oh, I’m going to fight three times in three weeks.’ Bro, you’re a broke f**k, you didn’t even fight three times in four years so I think the UFC knows where I stand.”

‘Chaos’ also said he is ready to fight immediately.

“If there was a fight tomorrow against Woodley or Usman, I would step up and I would go fight that fight.”

The 2nd ranked Welterweight is not at any of the three events between May 9-May 16. Can we see him fight at the proposed May 23 event? Is he being saved for Fight Island?

Who do you think Colby Covington will face next?
