“I’m Gonna Have to Deal With Feelings That Arise” – Sean O’Malley Opens up About His Relationship

Recently, rising UFC bantamweight contender Sean O’Malley opened up about his open relationship.

O’Malley is one of the hottest prospects in MMA. The twenty-five-year-old has delivered almost every single time he has stepped inside the cage. The undefeated 12-0 bantamweight fighter is coming off an impressive knockout win over veteran Eddie Wineland.

For the past few days, Sean has appeared on multiple podcasts and shows. As a result, fans are starting to learn more about the young athlete. On a recent episode of the ‘Food Truck Diaries,’ Sean revealed sensitive details about his relationship. “Suga Sean” admitted that he is in an open relationship with his girlfriend.

“We’ve been together for a long time and it was before I was ‘Sugar’. It had nothing to – do with that [fame]. It had nothing to do with that. I’m gonna live my life. And – ‘Do you love me? You want me to enjoy my life?’ – It’s super mutual.

“If I had a good time and I come home tomorrow… ‘Hey, I had this great time, whatever.’ She should be like ‘Oh damn, cool,’ like happy for me.”

Sean stated that he is fine if his girlfriend decides to get intimate with someone else. However, he did acknowledge that the feelings are difficult to deal with.

“What am I gonna say? You can’t do that? If she wanted to, that’s her enjoying her life. It’s not like I’m gonna deal with it easy. I’m gonna have to deal with feelings that arise, some insecurities that pop up from childhood, from high school, from whatever.

“And I navigate through that – and I love her. I love her so much that I’m like ‘If that was something you felt you needed to do, that’s okay.’

“We’ll see when I deal with it. But so far the stuff that we have dealt with, you know we always come out at the end. We’ve had our cries, we’ve had our talks. We’ve always came out like ‘Oh my God, I love you more.’ ”

Currently, Sean does not have any fight scheduled. But he is eyeing a match with Marlon Vera next.
