Top-ranked women’s Flyweight contender Jessica Eye entered the Octagon for the first time this calendar year at UFC Fight Night: Eye vs Calvillo. She would have been hoping that her experience of missing weight at UFC 245 was just a one-off. However, that was not to be the case as ‘Evil’ stepped on the scale above the 126 lbs limit. As the debate over her weight rages on, the fighter has refused to get drawn into any talk about it.

Jessica Eye refuses to get drawn into a debate concerning her weight

In a chat with MMA Fighting, Eye had a direct response which seemed to be her last say on the matter. “I weighed what I weighed, what everybody saw. I’m not going to go into arguing with a million people saying that they think they saw and this and that.”

Furthermore, the top-ranked women’s Flyweight contender said she would not engage in a debate and give the fans any entertainment. “I’m just not going to give anybody the f**king arguments that they want. Everyone’s seen what they’ve seen and that’s it.”

Earlier, she responded to Joanne Calderwood but has since expressed that she does not want to fight with the 3rd ranked Flyweight over comments about her weight cut.

“I’m not going to go into ‘he said’ bullsh*t because nobody has anything else to talk about. The fight’s over with. The weight’s over with. I’m not going to go into it, I’m not going to fight with ‘Jojo’. I’m not going to fight with these people over minuscule sh*t that really doesn’t mean anything.”

Furthermore, ‘Evil’ threw shade on MMA being a dirty sport where no one has another’s back.

She says, “I’m going to let those guys do it. I’m going to let those guys duke it out, cause I just don’t want to get into it. It’s stupid. To argue with people over my weight, over my money that I’m going to miss, over things that people don’t understand. I don’t have the energy, let alone the time to do it. I’d much rather let people think what they want of me or say things. It’s really not that big of a deal.”

‘Evil’ went down to the Calvillo who made her UFC Flyweight debut. Also, as a result of missing weight, she forfeited a portion of her fight purse. However, she seems to be eager to put it all behind her and look forward.
