As the UFC’s stint at the fight island inches closer, a fighter in one of the main events promises brutality. The returning Robert Whittaker stated that he is all set to devour Darren Till, come July 25.

Robert Whittaker is returning after a brief break from the world of MMA. Post losing his title to Israel Adesanya in October 2019, ‘The Reaper’ had a burnout.

He went completely off the grid to regain the will to train. And now he will make a comeback to take on the promising Middleweight prospect, Darren Till.

Of course, Darren Till has garnered quite a reputation for himself as a social media king of sorts. Thus, conversations leading up to his fights can be very interesting.

While Whittaker acknowledges the fact that Till is a great guy, he is not thinking much about it. As always, all Whittaker cares about is his job to fight. In an interview with Submission Radio, he said,

“It’s cool how it’s a different approach, but I’m not really thinking about whether Darren is a cool guy or not. Once we kinda knew we were fighting, I don’t really care what sort of person he is.”

It seems like the brief time away from the Octagon has really worked in favor of Whittaker’s mentality. The former Middleweight Champion seems eager to make his comeback worthwhile and eventually dominate the division again.

Moreover, he has quite the plans for his British opponent for when they finally clash.

Whittaker said, “It’s one of those things where all I’m focusing on now is crushing him.”

“I think he’s got a good skill-set. But honestly, I think I’m better across the board. I also hope I can get him out of there pretty quickly. And it’s not gonna be due to lack of trying, trust me. I’m prepared to make it a slugfest, I’m prepared to make it hell. Gonna get in there and do my thing.”[Source- Submission Radio on Twitter]
