Khabib Nurmagomedov is reportedly set for a fight in September to unify the Lightweight and the Interim Lightweight Championship.  However, not much is known about ‘The Eagle’s intense preparation for the fight which could take place on Fight Island. While not commenting about the Fights, ‘The Eagle’ posted a cryptic message just days after promising to make a statement about his future.

In an Instagram post, the 28-0 fighter wrote, “Soon we are launching an interesting project with Rizvan Magomedov. Who wants to enter the subject, but notes share?))) Interesting news coming soon. To be continued….”

Here he is pictured with Magomedov who is the President of Dominance MMA which manages the likes of Henry Cejudo and Kamaru Usman. Could the announcement possibly feature the management group launching their own fight promotion? ‘The Eagle’s word usage “share” could imply he is talking about pay share for employees contracted. 

Perhaps, ‘The Eagle’ could set up a tournament for Russian fighters. By doing so, he will provide them a platform to announce themselves to the world before a bigger audience. 

Another option could be that Nurmagomedov is all set to announce a new sponsorship. All one can do is speculate until the Dagestani fighter decides that the time is right to break the “interesting news.”

Fans do not have any details regarding the same. However, one can expect the 2nd ranked pound for pound fighter to be at the top of his game before stepping into the Octagon to fight ‘The Highlight.’

Gaethje sustained an injury in training recently. In a post, he revealed to the world that he is grappling at full tilt in practice. ‘The Eagle’ knows exactly what he must prepare for and a grappling match is right up his ally. Moving back to the Instagram post, could the announcement be a coaching change for the upcoming fight?
