Paulo Costa has recently come out in public to criticize Israel Adesanya over his title bout with Yoel Romero. The Eraser ridiculed the reigning UFC Middleweight champion while praising American YouTuber Logan Paul.

The Brazilian said, “I did boxing sparring last morning with Logan Paul. He is a tough guy. He make my lip a little hurt. I’m a tough guy but he [is] also. We did a boxing spar without mouthpieces, mouth guards. We are tough guys.

A video featuring the popular YouTuber taking on Paulo Costa has been doing the rounds on social media. The session included alternate rounds of wrestling and boxing. The 28-year-old fighter eventually sent Paul sprawling on the canvas with a hard knock to his head.

The fighter stated, “We’re not afraid to take some hits like Adesanya [is]. He’s scared. He avoided the fight [with Romero]. Me, no. Logan Paul not avoid fight.”

Costa admitted that Paul has a future in MMA, as he did more than holding his own while grappling. He said, “Ninety percent of guys who go to train MMA have good technique, but not hard spirit, not big heart.“

The Champion Team fighter feels that the YouTube star has both the aforementioned qualities. He said the latter can go far in the sport if he takes his training seriously and makes a real commitment to the sport.

“I think he can if he wants. If he starts training and he’s serious about doing this, he can, because he’s talented.”

As of now, Costa is waiting for his shot at the title again. The Brazilian boasts of a spectacular record of 13-0-0, with his last win against the Cuban Powerhouse Yoel Romero by unanimous decision.
