“It’s Getting Hard For People To Respect Amanda Nunes”- Dana White on Fans Gender Bias

UFC president Dana White revealed that the reason why Amanda Nunes is not recognized as the G.O.A.T is due to gender bias. Nunes has dominated the Bantamweight and Featherweight divisions and has cemented her name among the greats in MMA. However, fighters such as Jon Jones, Daniel Cormier, and Conor McGregor often get more recognition, which could be attributed to a gender bias in the sport.

“Half of these guys have never been in a fight in their life”- Dana White

“I think it’s because she’s a woman, to be honest with you. First of all, let’s start here. Most of these guys that cover the sport don’t know sh*t about the sport, anyways. Half of these guys have never been in a fight in their life. Not even half — 99.9 percent of them have never been in a fight in their life, and the .1 percent got beat up a few times. That’s about it” said, White

Dana publicly criticized various media houses for their comments on Nunes. He also said that Amanda Nunes is not mentioned amongst the greats as she is a woman. Nunes is arguably the greatest female fighter of all time given her achievements. She currently holds belts in two divisions and hasn’t been defeated in over 5 years.
