Mike Perry will be introducing to the world to something new and fresh when he fights against Mickey Gall this weekend. Perry won’t be having any coaches in his corner. Rather, he will be accompanied by his girlfriend alone. While many experts and fans believe it will be a terrible strategy, Mike has his reasons for doing so.

The 28-year-old Welterweight gave a rather fired up and odd interview to Ariel Helwani. He started by referring to all his haters without even being asked about them. With his glasses on, Perry gave a rather cryptic and strange interview to the MMA journalist. When Helwani asked why he was only going in with his girlfriend in his corner, he gave a pretty straightforward reply.

“Cause she’s perfect.”

Ariel inquired more about the experience that Perry’s girlfriend has in cornering people. As it turned out, she will be a novice on the job.

“She has no experience. She is just a tough peanut butter cup chocolate chip cookie, and she has experience in boxing and wrestling. Believe it or not, she wrestled in high school,” Perry stated.

Moreover, the Florida based fighter seems to be having a tough time with his coaches. He doesn’t want to hear them in between fights. This is where her girlfriend will be an upgrade over bringing a coach.

“She’s gonna do the number one thing that I could ask for a coach. She’s gonna sit there and enjoy the show cause she’s got the best seat in the house. I don’t need your advice anyways. I’ve done the work. It’s done. I’ve seen the fight in my head a thousand times. I’m gonna bust this dude in the face and I’m gonna bust his chops,” Perry added.

By his own account, Mike has not held himself to one single gym. Instead, he has bounced around a number of them. In his view, he is giving back to the MMA community. Perry feels he doesn’t need a coach to tell him what to do. His girlfriend is enough to cheer him up during the fight.

‘Platinum’ Mike has lost his last two fights, both of which took place in the latter half of last year. He will be desperately looking for a win over Mickey Gall on this weekend’s co-main event.
