Robert Whittaker put up an absolute clinic against Jared Cannonier in the co-main event of UFC 254. Coming off a spectacular win over former welterweight title contender Darren Till, Whittaker executed a smart approach against power-heavy Cannonier.
The former light-heavyweight contender, who was riding on a three-fight win streak with wins over the likes of Anderson Silva and Jack Hermansson, fell short on the judges’ scorecards as he suffered his first loss in the middleweight division.
Jared Cannonier took to Instagram to congratulate the former champion. The ‘Killa Gorilla’ also opened up about the injuries he sustained during the fight and stated that he broke his left arm in the very first round of the co-main event.
