Jesse Ronson, ‘The Body Snatcher’, staged his sensational return in UFC after six years with a perfect first-round submission against Nicolas Dalby in the prelims of UFC Fight Night 174. The night escalated quickly for Ronson as he wasted no time in bringing the contest to the ground. One clean strike on the face and it brought Dalby down, giving Ronson an easy win.

It was Ronson’s first victory in the UFC, despite getting a shot in the promotion almost seven years ago. From 2013 to 2014, ‘The Body Snatcher’ had three fights, and he lost all of them.

UFC released him from their roster in 2014. However, it’s 2020 and Ronson is back into the promotion with a bang.

Jesse Ronson submits Nicolas Dalby in the first round

Having a win over Alex Oliveira last year, Nicolas Dalby was deemed to be the favorite in the contest. Although Dalby had just 2 wins in UFC, he was considered as a potent threat for ‘The Body Snatcher’.

Meanwhile, Ronson, 0-3 in the UFC, surprised everyone by cementing a stellar comeback to the promotion. After a close first round, Ronson landed a big jab in minute 2:28 of round number 2. The jab landed clean and Dalby hit the canvas.

The knockdown proved to be beneficial for Ronson as he immediately started to work on the ground. After landing some slashing elbows, ‘The Body Snatcher’ got complete mount bar over his rival. While Ronson was continuously pouring punches, Dalby turned himself over and ended up getting trapped in a brutal Rear Naked Choke. No wonder, it was a special UFC win for ‘The Body Snatcher’.

The former lightweight fighter made his UFC comeback as a welterweight after six long years. He notched an impressive win on his resurrection to the promotion and is expected to stay active in the roster. However, the welterweight division is already stacked in UFC. Thus, Ronson needs a few more impressive wins to get himself notable in the particular weight class.

The successful debut is going to land Ronson against some elite welterweights in the promotion, one of the deepest divisions. Ronson needs to continuously prove himself if he wants to stay relevant. However, it’s still not known whether he would continue his journey in 170 or return to 155.
