Jessica-Rose Clark is one of the most promising fighters in the women’s bantamweight division. The Australian fighter is a fan favorite. Most recently, she fought at UFC Vegas 11 with a dominant victory over Sarah Alpar.

Jessy Jess’ dominated the fight from the first bell and punished her opponent. Her relentless offense was too much for Alpar to handle. The fight was stopped in the third round.

Following her win, Clark was disappointed to learn that she had missed out on a bonus. She took to Twitter jokingly to share her bank balance, which was $17 before the fight. Not receiving the $50,000 bonus now seems harder to swallow as Clark shared some bad news via Instagram.

Jessica-Rose Clark shares bad news via Instagram

‘Jessy Jess’ took to Instagram and shared some bad news. She said, “So… got some bad news. I hurt my knee in camp for that last fight. Then I hurt it again in the fight.

“And then it turns out I have a torn ACL and I need to get ACL surgery now, which is going to put me out for about nine months. So it looks like I won’t be fighting until mid-2021.

Clark added, “Obviously, I’m pretty bummed about it. In fact, I feel like the last couple of years have been pretty rough, to be honest. Like, I lost, and I got injured and was out for almost a year. And then lost again. And then I got injured again. The one thing I’m grateful for is that I still had a really great performance against Sarah.

“And that kind of shows me that I’m on the right path with my training, my mentality, to become a better athlete, to become a better fighter, to become a better human being. I’m on the right path, I’m figuring out my plan and the right things for me.”

It’s unfortunate that given her last performance, ‘Jessy Jess’ will not be able to carry the momentum into another fight. She will have to be on the sidelines for the better part of a year.

Do you think we will see Clark back in the octagon in 2021? If so, who would you like her to face?
