Israel Adesanya’s Coach Eugene Bareman spoke to Submission Radio and touched upon a statement made by commentator Joe Rogan. Per Rogan, Israel Adesanya will become one-half of a new season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’. The reality show will culminate with Adesanya facing off against Paulo Costa per the structure of the series.

Coach of Israel Adesanya chimes in

The City Kickboxing Coach was quick to dispel the rumor as he explained never having received any pertinent information. Preparation for a full-fledged season of TUF is a notoriously difficult process to get the fighters on board.

“One hundred percent I don’t know anything about it. No one has ever proposed it to me, I’ve never had any documentation, I’ve never had any electronic documentation saying anything about it at all. Nah, Joe Rogan knows a lot more than me about it, so I don’t know. So, like, you can take that how you want it, but it probably means that Joe Rogan saw some information that’s not good.”

Moreover, with no concrete intimation to the camp of Israel Adesanya, it seems unlikely that a season will materialize. The multi-divisional champion trainer left the door open to the idea of the two middleweight strikers facing off for TUF.

“Look, nothing’s coming over my desk in regards to Paulo Costa and Israel Adesanya fighting. Nothing about that. And I’ve also had nothing in regard to The Ultimate Fighter. For The Ultimate Fighter to happen, a lot more would have to be done. These guys gotta scrap for every dollar they can. That’s what I’d base my decision on if it came down to it. But it’s not. It’s not a discussion point at the moment because it needs to come over my desk, and nothing has come over my desk in regard to that.”

In the past, reports made by Joe Rogan have proven to have validity behind them. The commentator has been with the UFC since the early days of the promotion and understands the inner workings. A season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ starring Adesanya and Paulo Costa would certainly make for an entertaining viewing experience.

The two fighters have plenty of bad blood brewing between then which has fans clamoring for a 185-pound title clash.
