

Feuds and fallouts in the world of combat sports are often everlasting. When we talk about bad blood, the rivalry between UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier comes to mind.

Hardly any rivalries in recent years have been able to match the intensity of that between DC and Bones. A feud that has spanned over the course of a decade. It has seen the two fighters exchange jabs, kicks, verbal punches, both inside and outside the octagon.
The ferocity of these sworn enemies has driven people to their TV screens all across the globe. However, their fights are not the only thing that they have left branded in the memories of their fans. Even their official fight promos are things of beauty. Specifically, the promo for UFC 214, without a doubt one of the most incredible videos ever to surface from the UFC.

For the most part, the promo focused on Jon Jones, the then former UFC-light heavyweight champion and all-time great. The video exhibits his fall from glory and dives into the details of the incidents. The incidents being, getting pulled over for a DWI, being involved in a hit and run with a pregnant lady, testing positive for Cocaine and more.
The failings and shortcomings of Bones cannot be ignored and the UFC has done a commendable job at addressing that fact in the promo. For fans and fighters lauded the video for its raw honesty. Irish artist, Hozier’s Arsonist’s Lullaby makes for the perfect soundtrack to portray Jones’ dramatic fall, congruent with the story of Icarus.

Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier in a UFC Pre-Fight Conference to Remember
Bones and DC’s beef has given us yet another unforgettable moment. The prefight conference that took place in August 2014 at the MGM Grand. The press conference took place before their fight that was supposed to take place in September however a leg injury to Jones forced the fight to be postponed to January.

The two butt heads to pose for a traditional staredown photo opportunity. However, DC went on to shove Jones which enraged the fighter and sent him punching and kicking trying to get at Cormier. Jones threw a number of punches before the two toppled off the makeshift stage, that came crumbling down.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission unanimously voted to fine both Jones and Cormier for being part of the brawl. Jones saw a $50,000 fine and 40 hours of community service. Whereas Cormier saw a $9,000 fine and 20 hours of community service.
