Tony Ferguson recently went through a tough patch before his fight with Donald Cerrone. However, Jones was not aware of it while making those sensitive remarks and he later apologizes for his comments.

“Definitely knew nothing about my guy having any mental health issues, I do now though. I apologize for my response back to him and moving on.”

Not only that, Jones also deleted the tweet a few minutes after saying: “Definitely should’ve used a better choice of words, deleted that last tweet. My fault, I’m sorry guys

“Yes but that’s obviously an extremely sensitive topic. Shouldn’t have even brought up the word.” said Jones when fans asked him whether he was trying to imply Ferguson calling him out was suicidal.

Jon Jones mentioned that he and Ferguson were about to possibly train with each other. Hence it’s safe to assume that Tony Ferguson has no intention of fighting Jones. However, Jones’ remarks might have created an unwanted controversy. It would be interesting to see how Tony Ferguson responds to Jones’ response and the apology afterward.
