While answering a series of questions on his Youtube channel, Jorge Masvidal had an interesting response to a fan who asked him how he would beat Conor McGregor with one single strike or combination to the head.

It can be rightfully said that 2019 was Jorge Masvidal’s year. With 3 finishes in a row, Masvidal became one of the biggest stars in the UFC. He knocked out Darren Till in England and set a record for the fastest knockout against Ben Askren. Masvidal also forced a doctor’s stoppage and won the BMF belt last year.

Masvidal’s stocks grew exponentially within a year. He finally got the recognition from the MMA fans. However, with the added fame, he has shown keen interest in fighting only big names for big money in the company. The biggest name on his list was Conor McGregor.

Although Masvidal did not get the McGregor fight, a fan on YouTube asked him how he would beat McGregor with just one strike or combo.

McGregor, who has a very powerful left hand, can put to sleep almost anybody he touches. However, Masvidal revealed his strategy of beating McGregor by countering the left hand of McGregor.

“Slip, Bob, Elbow,” was Masvidal’s response.

“Every time he throws the left hand, there’s a mighty right elbow coming up.”

Even though Masvidal made it sound easy, catching McGregor with an elbow will be an extremely difficult task. The Irishman is precise with his shots. He can move in and out on his opponents’ range with ease.

Masvidal vs McGregor can be an interesting fight with two elite strikers who have devastating power in their shots. McGregor might be the superior striker but Masvidal is the better-rounded mixed martial artist with cardio that can last for five rounds.

However, it looks like this fight won’t be made any time soon. Masvidal is rumored to fight the welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, during international fight week. Should he get through Usman, a potential bout with McGregor would be massive.
