It seems like we will not get to see Tony Ferguson Vs Khabib Nurmagomedov for the fifth time either. Recently, ‘The Eagle’ took to his Instagram to explain his situation. Just when things started to look bleak, one of the biggest stars in the UFC offered to save the day.

Khabib vs Tony is cursed! The fight has been booked for four times and it fell apart every single time. Just when we thought that we would finally get to see the two men compete, the Coronavirus just won’t let it happen.

Khabib— a citizen of Russia— was training for the biggest fight of his life. However, due to the lockdown, he had to shift his training camp to Abu Dhabi. But when he reached the UAE, it was brought to his notice that he would have to move once again due to the travel restrictions on noncitizens.

The Russian could not stay in the UAE, neither could he go back to the US, the only option was to head back to Russia. He tried to continue his training camp there but soon learned that Russia closed down its aviation system. The Dagestani revealed that the UFC is already looking for a backup for Tony Ferguson.

It was revealed by Ariel Helwani that Ferguson was offered Justin Gaethje. Gaethje is ranked #4 in the division and is coming off a three-fight win streak. But there has been no confirmation on that fight either.

Jorge Masvidal Offers to Fight UFC 249

Jorge Masvidal said he is free and ready to fight at UFC 249. However, he did not say who he wants to fight.

There are two ways this fight can go down. Since Masvidal fights at welterweight, he could challenge Ferguson at the same weight class. Ferguson is also a natural welterweight and has fought at that weight before.

The fight makes all the sense in the world as it would define the true BMF. In the past, Tony had claimed that he was the only BMF in the UFC.
