Despite a global pandemic, UFC President Dana White remained adamant to move ahead with UFC 249. While doing so, White encountered numerous hurdles. However, he overcame almost every single one of them. Unfortunately for White, a phone call from Disney and ESPN officials forced him to postpone the event. Many fans are upset about the situation and the same can be said for UFC commentator Michael Bisping.

Michael Bisping prefers Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson over other fights

On his Youtube channel ‘Michael Bisping Podcast’, Bisping stated his disappointment regarding the cancellation of UFC 249. But, he has not lost hope yet.

Bisping said, “The only silver lining that I can see from this and I don’t know if this would even happen. But one potential is that when they rebook UFC 249… maybe we could see Khabib vs Tony again….. I’m not shitting on Justin (Gaethje) vs Tony. I was very excited to watch that fight but Khabib vs Tony is the one everyone wanted to see.”

Tony Ferguson is the fight that makes sense for Khabib Nurmagomedov. Both men are on a twelve fight win streak and have almost cleaned out the lightweight division. It would be the ideal fight to book when things fall in place. But with Gaethje in the picture, things are now complicated.

Bisping predicts what’s next for Conor McGregor

Originally, Gaethje was in the conversation to fight Conor McGregor. Assuming that Gaethje will stake his claim to a title shot, Conor will not have an opponent. And Bisping thinks that Nate Diaz might fill the gap.

“Conor’s next fight will be Nate Diaz 3….That’s my guess, that’s my semi-educated non-circle of trust guess. That’s me throwing shit at a wall and seeing what sticks.” Bisping said.

Diaz’s last fight was against Jorge Masvidal. Even though Diaz was defeated, the method of victory—doctor’s stoppage—left many fans unsatisfied, as they believed that Diaz would eventually let his hands go in the later rounds. On the other hand, Conor is coming off an impressive win over Donald Cerrone.

A trilogy fight with Nate Diaz would be a good matchup when things return to normal. Diaz and McGregor are 1-1 against each other. A third fight will decide which man is better among the two. Also, the bout could potentially draw in huge amounts of revenue for the company.
