Rising UFC Prospect Khamzat Chimaev took to Twitter and doubled down on his excitement to scrap at the highest level. The 8-0 fighter out of Sweden has captured the attention of MMA fans with his electrifying style and confidence. What’s more, the Dana White and the UFC brass have stood behind Chimaev and are seemingly all in for promoting him.

Chiefly, the long-time UFC boss spoke to the media and revealed that there were two fights being planned for Khamzat. This is an unprecedented move by White, who usually is not one to put his chips in for an untested commodity. However, “Borz” has exhibited supreme athleticism and killer instinct in his run with the promotion.

Khamzat Chimaev will face game challenger Gerald Meerschaert on September 19 at the Apex Facility. He is then expected to fight against former title challenger Demian Maia on Fight Island, based on his performance in Vegas. Khamzat expressed his thirst to remain active and make a statement against big names in the company. Not to mention, he went after the Diaz brothers, who are arguably two of the biggest names.

The UFC has openly backed Chimaev, and it’s safe to say that there are significant expectations based on his statements. He has not shied away from calling out several fighters, including Conor McGregor, despite turning professional back in May 2018. However, he makes a compelling case as to why the UFC and the MMA world are excited about his future.

Khamzat Chimaev: A surging prospect

The 26-year-old fighter set a record in the promotion by stepping into the cage to fight in just 10 days. Moreover, he has been vocal about fighting in both the Middleweight and the Welterweight division.
