Tony Ferguson is the type of guy to make weight even if the event is cancelled. Although this weight cut does not make sense, this is one of the reasons why the fans love him. Even the Notorious, Conor McGregor could not help but congratulate Ferguson on a “victory” over Justin Gaethje.

The former interim champion was supposed to take on Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC 249. Dana White decided to host this event on an island as the restrictions posed by the government would not allow him to go ahead with the event in California or any other state. But, UFC 249 fell apart in its final stage as the executives from ESPN and Disney asked White to call it off.

But, this has not stopped Tony Ferguson to be battle-ready for this weekend as he makes the championship weight of 155 lbs tonight. Earlier, Tony Ferguson informed ESPN’s journalist, Ariel Helwani that he went through the weight cut successfully despite being aware that he is not fighting for the interim title this weekend as scheduled.
