The UFC did not officially announce any fights on the card. However, Holloway is expected to take on Volkanovski for the featherweight strap in a rematch after he lost a lopsided unanimous decision to Volkanovski at UFC 245.

Volkanovski followed a perfect gameplan in which he systematically targeted Holloway’s legs. Hence, slowing the champion down and out striking him. Despite Volkanovski winning convincingly the first time, the UFC decided to grant the former champion an immediate rematch.

The betting odds opened in favour of the champion.

Alexander Volkanovski has proved in the first fight that he can keep up with the pace of Holloway. To win this fight, Holloway will have to change his strategy drastically.

Women’s flyweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko vs Joanne Calderwood will likely be the co-main event. Shevchenko dominated Katlyn Chookagian in her last fight. On the other hand, Calderwood (14-4) is coming off a split decision victory over Andrea Lee.

This the second time the UFC will be heading to Perth. Yoel Romero and Luke Rockhold headlined the first card in Perth. Romero was successful in knocking out Rockhold to secure the victory. The featherweight champion also fought on the same card. Volkanovski finished Jeremy Kennedy in the second round.
