The Notorious Conor McGregor paid tribute to NYC photographer Anthony Causi after he passed away due to the coronavirus.

Causi was a regular at major sporting events and was considered one of the best sports journalists in the world. A picture speaks a thousand words and causi was a testament to that statement. He had developed close relationships with many athletes due to his ability to capture breathtaking photos.

Wow! May God rest this man’s soul He was right! When he breaks free, the world won’t know what hit it! Incredible! RIP Anthony Causi”. Said McGregor on Twitter.

Anthony was born and raised in Brooklyn and got into to The Post as a photo messenger. Causi’s rise to the top was inspirational. He went on to cover some of the most important sporting events and was known for his action photography. He was extremely well respected amongst the sporting fraternity and had developed close relationships with a lot of athletes.

Causi contracted the virus and posted a picture of him in the hospital on the 22nd of March. He was put on a ventilator shortly after and fought bravely for 3 weeks before passing away.

Causi was known for gaining the trust of all the athletes he worked with, especially in an industry known for having bad relationships with journalists. Causi had the knack of asking athletes to pose a certain way and they would comply due to his excellent relationships with them and his ability to portray larger than life stories.

His legacy will live on through the amazing moments he captured on his lens and will always be regarded as one of the most respected members in the sporting community.
