Life gives one very few chances to taste glory. When it does, one must grab it with both hands. Jorge Masvidal did exactly that when he showed his keen interest in fighting champion Kamaru Usman. It was believed that The Gamebred’s relations with UFC were on a backfoot, as his deals were affected due to contract issues.
Jorge Masvidal has a stellar UFC experience with a record of 35-13-0. He has fought enough matches to understand the science and business behind the sport. Masvidal himself agrees that he never reaches out to the UFC for any contract. Instead, his team does all the paperwork while Jorge focuses on the game. Even Dana White praised the veteran American for stepping up for the fight with such short notice.

Jorge Masvidal is very relaxed ahead of UFC 251 Main Event
In a series of short interviews owing to a busy schedule, Jorge looked rather laid back. He is a hard nut to impress and is straightforward in whatever he says. A fighter who does not run away from tough questions is even tougher to discover. In a small video clip shared by a celebrated presenter Adam Catterall, something funny happened.
It was not clear what was the question that Jorge was answering. But the beginning of the cropped clip quoted him saying, “It’s About… Beat Up Somebody I Don’t Like.” We can just make a wild guess on whether he was discussing Kamaru Usman.
Things took a lighter turn when Adam showed him a bottle of ‘fire water’ or Mezcal. Masvidal went nuts and exclaimed, “Drink that one, I’ll send you a case man, drink that one bro!”
🤣 @GamebredFighter's reaction when he realised @AdamCatterall still had the bottle of Mezcal he game him…

Is Masvidal’s BMF title at stake?
Do you remember the hype created before UFC 244 in November 2019? The main event had Jorge Masvidal defeat Nate Diaz in Round 3. It was the same time when the BMF Belt was launched as the most expensive belt with a value of USD 50,000.
This past week, reports were hot that Usman badly wants Masvidal’s belt on-line. He would not stop texting Dana to make some arrangements. This is surprising given that Usman earlier said the UFC Championship belt is a bigger deal. But Dana White cleared the air when he told TMZ that “It is not on the line.”
