UFC middleweight contender Kelvin Gastelum is looking to get back to winning ways. Since losing to Israel Adesanya for the interim middleweight title, Gastelum has not had a win in his last three fights.
At 29, he has yet to reach his prime and has his best days still ahead of him. Normally a three-fight losing streak in the UFC would land a fighter on the chopping board. However, Kelvin has the potential and the star power to be a future world champion.

With Edmen heading into the Derek Brunson match in August 2020, many fans were hyping up Shahbazyan to be a future champ. However, ‘The Golden Boy’ suffered his maiden professional defeat via a third-round TKO.
Kelvin Gastelum eyes Edmen Shahbazyan
Ever the opportunist, Gastelum took to Twitter to call out Shahbazyan. “Hope all is well during this pandemic @edmenshahbazyan. I’ve been waiting to sign a contract, and all we need is your signature. Thank you @AliAbdelaziz00 @Mickmaynard2 @danawhite @ufc”
It is a smart move by Gastelum to pursue Shahbazyan who still has some star power to his name. While both fighters are well rounded, Gastelum’s Octagon experience should be the difference-maker.

Kelvin has faced the best of the best since joining the UFC. Gastelum won the Ultimate Fighter Season 17 by beating Uriah Hall in the finale. With a record of 15-6, Gastelum has fought the likes of Darren Till, Michael Bisping, Chris Weidman, Tim Kennedy, and former champion Johny Hendricks.
