UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman successfully retained his title against Jorge Masvidal in their latest encounter at the headliner of UFC 251, the inaugural event of Dana White’s ambitious UFC Fight Island. While many fans thought that the fight was boring, UFC heavyweight Francis Ngannou provided an explanation of why that wasn’t the case.

The ‘highly-anticipated’ matchup between two of the A-listed welterweight contenders appeared to be a one-sided contest. Kamaru Usman seemingly managed to outshine Jorge Masvidal in all of the rounds.

The UFC 251 headliner was dragged to the judge’s scorecard and Kamaru Usman notched an impressive win via unanimous decision. The judges scored the contest 50-45, 50-45, and 46-49 to retain the Welterweight title on Usman’s shoulders. While the entire world is currently applauding Kamaru Usman for his sensational win, not everyone seems to be satisfied with The Nigerian Nightmare’s performance.

Jorge Masvidal accepted the fight against Kamaru Usman on a short notice of six days. Many UFC fans believe that Usman should have notched the victory more impressively. Meanwhile, heavyweight superstar Francis Ngannou took to Instagram and congratulated his fellow Nigerian for his recent victory. However, Ngannou had to come across a lot of critics in the post and ‘The Predator’ curbed those critics in his fashion.

However, a lot of critics jumped in to counter Francis Ngannou in the comment section. One of the users criticized Usman’s fight style, and claimed that the welterweight champion shall “fight like a man”.

Meanwhile, Francis Ngannou ruled out the criticisms by claiming that wrestling is a part of Mixed martial artists. “It wasn’t a banging contest but mixed martial art contest which means wrestling as well”, Ngannou wrote on Instagram.
