Amanda Nunes is the current bantamweight and featherweight champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. She is an impressive fighter and has an amazing fighting record of  21-4 under her name.

‘Lioness’ has always dominated her opponents inside the octagon. Furthermore, she is an impressively skilled fighter with thirteen knockouts and four submissions on her resume. The Brazilian women’s fighter is on an amazing twelve fight win streak and will now take on Julianna Pena in her next title defense in UFC.

Recently, Nunes was training with the PFL undefeated women’s fighter, Kayla Harrison, for her upcoming title bout at UFC 269. In an interview with MMA Junkie, Harrison lauded the UFC champion and also backed her for her next title fight. She said, “I am, but I would argue that she’s helping me just as much.”

She added, “It’s such a great blessing for me to be able to just work with her and just try to be like a sponge and soak it all up. She’s gonna be ready to murder Julianna Pena.”

While Harrison talked about how she is training with Nunes and helping her, she admitted that Nunes is also helping her just as much. However, this is not the only thing Harrison talked about in the interview. She also shared her thoughts on one of the most talked-about fights of Nunes’ UFC career.

Kayla Harrison Talks About a Trilogy Between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko

‘The Lioness’ and ‘The Bullet’ have crossed their path twice inside the octagon in UFC. Shevchenko faced her first UFC loss against Nunes at UFC 196. The pair faced each other again at UFC 215 and even this time, Nunes was victorious. However, the fight was very close, and many believed that ‘The Bullet’ deserved to win.

Recently, ‘The Bullet’ won her sixth title defense at UFC 266. She expressed her interest in fighting Nunes for the third time for a clear result. However, Nunes is yet to respond to her interest.

Meanwhile, Kayla Harrison shared her views on the trilogy scenario. In the same interview, Harrison said, “I think Amanda has nothing to prove to anyone, you know? If she wants to fight, she obviously can. If they offer the right amount of money, but she has nothing to prove to anyone.”

However, the promotion is yet to make any official announcement about the trilogy fight. Meanwhile, Nunes might also share her thoughts on this fight after she is done with UFC 269. All in all, if this trilogy fight comes to fruition, it will be a treat to the combat fans as both the fighters are the best in their division.
