No wonder Gabriel bills it as a favor for himself. The 20-year-old says that his father guides him over every aspect of the sport. From technicalities to work ethics and behavior, Gabriel calls his father to be a martial arts bible.
“He always advises me to be myself and not accept comparisons. After all, at the end of the day, I am Gabriel, not Anderson. But of course, I am prepared to face that too,” told Gabriel Silva.
The 20-year-old also plans to compete in the UFC and has already drafted his plan. Before turning into a pro martial artist, Gabriel wants to seek experience in boxing and kickboxing.
However, his UFC dream is a personal favorite, as he would get to compete against the best. Although he is not planning to kick off his career from there, UFC is surely on his radar.
“I don’t want to go to the UFC because my father was a legend there but because the best are there but I am not in a hurry. I don’t need to go straight to UFC. I can test myself in other events before I go there,” said Gabriel Silva.

Although the matchup is still not officially up, Silva claims that the UFC owes him a super-fight. While he could fight young talent, ‘The Spider’ doesn’t count such victories as valid.
Being a veteran himself, Silva prefers to go opposite former champions. While Conor McGregor was touted as a possible opponent, it seems that former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis Pettis will welcome ‘The Spider’ back to UFC action.
