A look at the dominant performance by Jan Blachowicz and his post-fight interview

The Polish powerhouse finally realized his dream of becoming a world champion at 37. He had made his UFC debut in 2014 against Ilir Latifi, where he won by TKO in the first round.

Having his share of ups and downs in his career, Jan Blachowicz got his first title shot against the Dominick Reyes, who had already fought once for the title. He seized the moment and surprised everyone as the underdog.

Blachowicz immediately called out the former champion Jon Jones in the post-fight interview, as the latter had vacated the belt citing a move to heavyweight. Now, there isn’t any assurance of when Jones will be back, and when he does, in what division. But what can be said is Blachowicz has worked very hard for the title and should savor the moment.
