Nick Diaz is a polarizing figure and one of the earliest in the UFC to make a name for himself. He attracted the attention of the masses and backed it with his dominant performances within the octagon. However, despite all his antics, the Stockton fighter reveals he always drew the line at a certain point.

The former WEC welterweight champion posted an Instagram story responding to a fighter’s accusations. He simply wrote, “I would never do this”

He did not take the issue ahead with a mud-slinging contest on social media.

Sanchez accused the veteran fighter of using emails to spew hate ahead of fights in an era where social media chats, podcasts didn’t exist and video chats weren’t prominent. ‘The Nightmare’ stated that a journalist leaked his email, leading to Diaz emailing him to get under his skin.

However, no fighter has ever accused the elder Diaz of using email to provoke them. Moreover, the issue can be solved with a simple email check as emails are not like present-day social media handles that can get verified.

When did Nick Diaz and Diego Sanchez fight?

The Nightmare’ maintained his short unbeaten streak and went 14-0 after outscoring Diaz in The Ultimate Fighter in 2005. Hence it is mystifying why Sanchez chose to reveal this detail 15 years later.

Diaz hasn’t fought in the UFC in over half a decade but continues to have fights left on his contract. As time passes, fans’ hopes of seeing him making a grand return diminish. Meanwhile, Sanchez will feature on the UFC 253 card and fight Jake Matthews.

‘The Nightmare’ has nothing to gain by calling out Diaz as he has won their first fight. Also, Diaz’s level headed response shows that he isn’t taking the bait and making a return just yet.

It also can be seen as a sign of him wanting to prove that he didn’t engage in trash talk then and will not do it now either.
