From an apprentice plumber to the biggest star in combat sports, Conor McGregor has a unique story to tell. The Irishman, who once lived on welfare cheques has become one of the highest-paid athletes in the world. However, he could not have accomplished it on his own.

“Behind every successful man, there’s a woman.” In McGregor’s case, there are two. ‘The Notorious’ took some time out of his schedule to thank the two women behind his success. In an Instagram post, McGregor appreciated his mother and his girlfriend Dee Devlin.

Ireland celebrated Mother’s Day on 22 March. While most people must have forgotten about it because of the Coronavirus, UFC star Conor McGregor did not.

Conor was born in 1988 to Margaret McGregor. Margaret holds a special place in Conor’s life, evident by his appreciation towards his mother frequently. Last year, the Irishman celebrated Margaret’s 60th birthday at the Versace Mansion in Las Vegas.

After being part of numerous controversies, Conor McGregor made his return in January against Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, blasting his opponent in 40 seconds. Unfortunately, one of the happiest moments in Conor’s life was marred his mother’s absence.

While he was backstage, McGregor said, “She stayed at home, she couldn’t make the fight this time. I love my mother dearly, the strongest woman I know.”

According to the fighter, there would have been no Conor without Devlin. The couple have two children and live the ‘MacLife’ to the fullest.
