Jon Jones has been much more than a UFC champ amidst the turmoil in the nation for the past few weeks. He has established himself as someone who has been giving back to his community in one way or the other.

In the wake of the protests following the death of George Floyd, the nation has also seen several cases of vandalism. When Jones got to hear about the same, he was very upset. He even took to the streets to do his part by attempting to stop such acts. Moreover, Jones has also helped some small businesses to get back on track.

This time around, Jones has focused on children. The pandemic has forced schools to be closed. Consequently, many children have been quarantined as well. If all this wasn’t enough, they even have to witness one of the ugliest protests in the USA in recent history. Considering all this, it becomes important for them to maintain a balanced frame of mind.

Jones argued that the mental health of children should be a matter of concern for everyone.

“Children have witnessed COVID-19, No School, Quarantine, Murders, Riots!! We’re only 6 months into the year. Our kids need mental health checks!! Be kind to the kids. They get stressed out too,” Jones wrote on Twitter.

Jon Jones and Dana White are going through a rough patch right now

While Jones has been benevolent with the community, he can’t say the same about UFC’s attitude towards him. The Light Heavyweight champ is not on the prettiest of terms with Dana White because of a pay dispute. Jones believes he deserves a much bigger payday for a move up to Heavyweight. However, according to Dana White, Jones has demanded too big a number.

The fiasco began during the negotiations of Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou. Both Dana White and Jon Jones recollect the account differently. Jones says he never quoted a number. According to him, the UFC shut him down by saying that he wouldn’t get paid more than his last fight for a move up to Heavyweight. However, Dana White says that Jones asked for the same amount that Deontay Wilder made in his last fight.

The situation between the two is far from normal. However, Dana said that this is not the first time that he and Jones are going through a rough patch. Hopefully, Dana will figure out a way to make this work and bring back Jon Jones.
