Paulo Costa Reacts to Israel Adesanya Apologizing For His “Twin Tower” Comment

Israel Adesanya recently issued an apology for the “Twin Tower” comment he made in the process of trash-talking Yoel Romero. Soon, the two will go face-to-face at UFC 248 on 7 March 2020.
Although Adesanya managed to rile up a whole lot of people on social media, Paulo Costa seemed to be the most agitated about Adesanya’s comment.
Paulo wrote on Twitter, “Israel Adesanya. You are a disgusting piece of sh*t. How dare you make a joke disrespecting the thousands who died and the heroic firefighters and police. I will really kill you, dirty kiwi.”

He took it upon himself to call Adesanya out for the irresponsible behavior that ‘The Last Stylebender’ had portrayed. Adesanya faced a lot of heat for the same and announced an apology for his comment. Yet, Costa does not seem to be in a forgiving mood.
Glad you learned your lesson. Now shut your big mouth already. Respect the people and be ready to be erased.
Esse Magrelo viu a merda que fez e se desculpou. Espero que mantenha-se assim; quietinho e se prepare para ser trucidado . pic.twitter.com/jAo820WSUl

Israel Adesanya’s apology came not long after he made his comment, which shows that the Middleweight Champion truly realized his mistake. Yet, it looks like Paulo Costa will only let Adesanya go once he has had his way with him. And perhaps, he will be able to after-all. Paulo currently ranks #2 in the Middleweight division, and thus has a very real chance of meeting Adesanya for the next title defense, should he defeat Romero.

“I never made a joke about people dying or made light of the tragic event that was 9/11”, Adesanya said. “I was simply rambling, and my brain worked faster than my mouth in a moment to (choose) the wrong euphemism. You speak on the mic enough times, and you’re bound to miss the mark with some bars. I did on this one, and for that I’m sorry. I’ll be more careful in (the) future with my words.”
Well, it sounds like an honest to heart apology. Still, this does not give fighters an excuse to get away with comments of the sort because, as celebrities, these fighters hold a social responsibility to set the right moral example for people who follow them, and they hold a similar responsibility as sportsmen at the top tier.
