“Queen of the Jungle!”- Daniel Cormier Narrates Amanda Nunes’ Story Ahead of UFC 250

Former UFC Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier recently took to Twitter to reminisce the journey of Amanda Nunes as she defends her titles tomorrow.

The Brazilian sits atop the throne of both the Bantamweight and Featherweight UFC division. The champion will defend both her belts against Canadian fighter Felicia Spencer.

DC, in addition to being a legend, also performs duties like being a commentator for the UFC. In addition, he also acted as a voice-over in the video that dives into the legacy that Amanda Nunes currently boasts of.

DC commences the narration with the humble beginnings of “The Lioness”. Hailing from a small town in Brazil outside of Salvador, Bahia, a four-year-old Nunes entered the world of Karate.

She later took to training in boxing at the age of sixteen.

Thereafter, Nunes accepted her sister’s invitation to a dojo, where she picked up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Diving into her professional MMA career, DC narrated how Amanda has beaten the top fighters in the sport. Her resume holds impressive victories over grand names like Valentina Shevchenko, Rhonda Rousey, and Cris Cyborg.

It is through her devastating power and relentless efforts that she has reached the pedestal that she currently stands on.

She is the only woman fighter of the UFC to hold titles in two divisions simultaneously. And she shares the stage with some of the top names in the game, including DC himself. The other two names are “Triple C” Henry Cejudo, and The Notorious One, Conor McGregor.

However, come Saturday, she might create history. Here’s how DC explained what Nunes might accomplish.

“Now, she’s got her sight set on making history again, by defending both belts simultaneously. Triple C didn’t do it. Neither did Conor. I didn’t even do it! Only Amanda. And on June 6th, it’s her chance to prove that she is still the ‘Queen of this Jungle’.”
