Rafael Fiziev’s Former Opponent Renato Moicano Warns Justin Gaethje: “There’s No Way He’s Losing”

Talks are being held for a fight between Rafael  and Justin Gaethje at UFC 286. The bout is set to take place in the capital of the United Kingdom, London. However, UFC lightweight star and Fiziev’s previous opponent, Renato Moicano, has sent a warning to Justin Gaethje. He believes that ‘The Highlight’ will not be able to defeat Rafael Fiziev.

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto broke the news recently about the bout between two of the top lightweight contenders being finalized. He reported that the fight could take place on March 18, 2023. It will be one of the co-main events for the show.

Renato Moicano has been fighting for the UFC since 2014. He has a fight record of 17 wins, 5 losses, and 1 draw to his name. Moicano’s clash with Rafael Fiziev inside the Octagon didn’t go down so well for him. He suffered a first-round KO defeat at UFC 256. Fiziev hit Moicano with a brutal left-handed hook to the jaw to end the bout.

Renato Moicano thinks Justin Gaethje is the real ‘underdog’

Rafael Fiziev and Justin Gaethje have two different fighting backgrounds. The former is one of the best strikers in the lightweight division. While the latter is an NCAA All-American wrestling champion. Justin Gaethje is seen as the favorite to win the fight, but Renato Moicano would beg to differ. The lightweight veteran took to Twitter and expressed his displeasure. He wrote: Man… fiziev is underdog against gaethje…. That’s crazy there’s no way he’s losing that fight #ufc #mma.”

Justin Gaethje’s recent fights didn’t go down in his favour. He has lost two times in his last three fights. However, he notably has five wins under his name out of his last seven fights. ‘The Highlight’ had failed to capture the lightweight title for the second time against Charles Oliveira at UFC 274. Moicano believes that Rafael Fiziev has more chance of winning this fight than Justin Gaethje.

UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping was surprised to know that Gaethje even accepted to fight Fiziev. It was because the same lightweight fighters were fighting each other in most UFC events recently. However, Justin Gaethje has another opportunity to come into title contention if he could go on to secure a win at UFC 286.
