Khabib Nurmagomedov is having a torrid Ramzan and has been hit by family problems yet again. As per Russian media reports in an RT Sports article, the UFC Lightweight Champion’s father, Abdulmanap, was moved to Moscow with a suspected heart problem. Ubaydula Osmanov, a Nurmagomedov family friend, gave weight to these reports.

Abdulmanap, the father of Khabib Nurmagomedov, hospitalized

He told RIA Dagestan, “A few days ago I spoke with Abdulmanap, he told me everything was fine, that he’s recovering. On May 3 one of his close relatives called me and said that suddenly he felt worse, and they’d taken him on a special flight to Moscow. I believe there were problems with his heart.”

Abdulmanap has not been in good health in the last few weeks. Earlier, fans of ‘The Eagle’ and near and dear ones of the family, feared that he was down with the coronavirus after being admitted to a Makhachkala hospital. However,  reports stated he was suffering from pneumonia and influenza. The 56-year-old also put rumors to rest as he told news outlets, “I feel great. Everything is fine with me.

However, everything may not be fine this time, as a transfer across cities shows a serious problem. In addition to being a key component of his son’s team, he also trains numerous athletes in sambo and wrestling.

With ‘The Eagle’ dealing with a family crisis, he would not take too kindly to Tony Ferguson’s recent comments. ‘El Cucuy’ told MMA Fighting, I want to say f*ck Khabib. I’m defending my belt for the third time. This is for the real belt not for an interim title. This is for the real championship sh*t. It’s champ sh*t only, buddy.” Furthermore, he even called for ‘The Eagle’ to retire.

Khabib may not pay heed to these comments right now. But one can be sure that there he will not forget them if he faces ‘El Cucuy’ to unify the Lightweight titles.

For now, all our prayers and best wishes are with the Nurmagomedov family.
